Improving bladder health and function is one of the most important aims in improving the quality of life for patients with spinal cord injury. Our group is working with Dr. Claire Yang to determine the effects of early chemodenervation, using Botulinum toxin A, on bladder tissue changes and bladder function after spinal cord injury. We are developing this therapeutic strategy in a rat model of spinal cord injury. We are also translating this treatment to patients with spinal cord injury.
